Today on the Doc On The Run Podcast, we are talking with Dr. Laura Kelly about Stress Fracture Nutrition for Recovering Runners.
Any runner increasing mileage has to make sure that your body has the nutritional building blocks to rebuild tissue so that they can become stronger in response to their workouts. If you get a stress fracture, it becomes even more crucial to pay attention do your nutrition so that you can rebuild that bone, continue working out and return to running as fast as possible.
Today I’m getting to sit down with Dr. Laura Kelly who attended Yale University and NYU. She practices evidence-based personalized Natural Medicine, is double-board certified and licensed nationally. Dr. Kelly has authored two books on bone nutrition with a focus on prevention of fractures related to decreased bone density, so there is no one better to help runners understand key components of nutrition as it relates to preventing or repairing bone.
