Today on the Doc On The Run podcast, we’re talking about the 3 Ingredients required for rapid recovery from running injury.
If you want to get back to running as quickly as possible you need 3 essential ingredients:
Recovery – of the injured piece of tissue.
Strength – of everything else that supports and protects that one injured piece of tissue.
Balance – (I’m not talking moderation here) You need to get your running form back beginning with balance. Stronger neuromuscular connections are like free speed. With better balance, you can run farther with less fatigue, less fatigue means better form. Better form means longer distances before something gets overloaded.
When something is weaker because it is still recovering, this approach is all the more important.
NEWSFLASH: you can work on recovery, building strength, and better balance at any stage of injury.
